Lent 2017 – a time for spiritual growth

Posted by:

Lent 2017 is a perfect -get close to God- time.

Yesterday, ash Wednesday, the beginning of the catholic lent. I’ve decided that it will mark the beginning of a new era in my life, that is to engage in a more spiritual approach to life. To read more and to listen more to figures like Bishop Barron, Joyce Meyer and Fr Mike Schmitz. I can especially recommend Bishop barrons youtube-channel. I’ve come to realize that the internet-world is abundant for ...

Today’s bible verse, Isaiah 42

Posted by:

From time to time I like to oped up my bible and read whatever comes up in the scripture. Doing this gives me the safeness to know that I’m a part of something of importance, that life has a meaning. It also gives me the strength to live happily no matter of my current circumstance – may it be good or sad/hard.

Todays scripture is from Isaiah and it goes like this.

There’s so much to learn!

Ever since I started medical school I’ve had the feeling that I’m never studying enough. Even though I could engage in countless hours infront of the books, the feeling of inadequacy was my faithful friend. The medical field is so broad that even now, after I’ve graduated and is engaging in my internship the feeling is still standing strong.

I had hoped that I would have time to catch up on the medical studies during my maternity leave but the responsibility ...

Chemicals in approved baby products are alarming:

Chemicals – can’t live with them, can’t live without them..

A couple of days ago, while cleaning the house, I’ve decided to put on a documentary on Netflix. It was about the dangerous chemicals a.k.a toxins that our children are exposed to everyday. This was really an eye-opening experience to me. We’ve had toxicology courses during med-school but I’ve never really realized the importance of this until I got a couple of children of my own. I’ve come to realize that ...

Family & faith time

Posted by:

I have just celebrated Easter with my family in Norrkoping. Had a great time with laughter, destress and good food. Since it was Easter time and my sister and her fiancé are uber-religious we naturally got into discussions about our Christian faith. I feel that my faith has deepened in recent time, I have realized that Christianity is all about how you treat your neighbor and that you should incorporate ...

Five words that can change my life. Ever since I was a little girl, I was goal oriented. I had great visions for what I could be and was ready to pay the price to become great. I don’t know where my hunger for success came from and why I had such great ambitions. In school, I was always the best student, got straight A;s on every assignment up until university. There, life changed me. I let my family problems ...

My tiredness was speaking yesterday when I wrote that blog post. It’s amazing how a little bit of sleep can change your entire outlook on life. I woke up energized today and I am actually looking forward my night shift at the ER. Is this all there is?

Posted by:

I’ve often wondered if being a doctor is what I really wanted to be. Is this what I want to work with the rest of my life? And now after having a baby and working full time with sleep deprivation, that thought keeps coming up in my head. Have I made the right choice? Working in this field is truly exhausting. Don’t get me wrong, I love working with people and I love being able to help them. But the responsibility ...
